Metal workflow

Prepare Photos for Metal Laser Engraving

Metal marking workflows behave differently from wood. Prepare image structure, contrast and resolution around the actual marking process.

Fiber Laser MOPA Coated Metal Raster Contrast

Built around real laser preparation

PixGrav focuses on the image-processing stage before production, helping you create cleaner, more controlled artwork for engraving workflows.

Sharper tonal structure

Prepare the image to preserve useful facial and object detail during marking.

Resolution control

Avoid feeding the laser more pixel detail than the spot size and hatch strategy can reproduce.

Flexible workflows

Use prepared files for direct marking, coated metals and other metal engraving processes.

Workflow

Keep image preparation structured and repeatable before you tune the machine itself.

Why prepare the image first?

Laser speed, power, frequency, focus and material response cannot compensate for a poorly prepared source image. A controlled preprocessing stage makes testing easier because the artwork stays consistent while machine parameters change.

Frequently asked questions

Can one image preparation work for all metals?

No. Bare metal, anodized aluminum, painted metal and coated products can respond very differently.

Is fiber laser photo engraving the same as CO₂ photo engraving?

No. The laser source, material interaction and marking strategy differ significantly.

Should I process the image before setting machine parameters?

Yes. Keep image preparation and machine parameter tuning as separate, controlled steps.
